The port at this southeastern Alaskan town is large enough to allow cruise ships to pull right up to the southern end of town. A 3-mile hike will get you to the northern end and back.
Juneau, Alaska
Juneau is the capital of Alaska, with a year-round population of around 32,000. Things get much busier when the cruise ships make their visits each summer.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Ketchikan is a old fishing town in southeastern Alaska. It's frequently the first stop in Alaska for cruises coming from Vancouver, Seattle and other ports to the south.
